Unemployment is up in Wakefield under the Tories

The latest labour market statistics reveal that the total number of Jobseeker’s Allowance claimants in Wakefield constituency in February 2015 was 1,797, 114 higher than in January 2015.

Mary Creagh MP said:

“Unemployment is up on last month and working people struggling with the cost of living crisis in Wakefield are £1,800 a year worse off since 2010.”

“Labour will raise the minimum wage to £8 an hour, ban unfair zero hours contracts and give tax rebates to firms who pay a Living Wage. We will also extend free childcare for working families and guarantee apprenticeships for everyone who gets the grades.”
