Say no to new strip club

Mary and Cllr Margaret Isherwood outside the site of the proposed new venue.

Campaigning against an application for a new strip club on Bank Street, Mary Creagh MP said:

“Strip clubs can change the character of a city and make it look and feel seedy. I want to make it clear they are not welcome in Wakefield. The last Labour government changed the law so these clubs had to have a special license and can be rejected by the Council. I have already written to Wakefield Council objecting to the application and I will be campaigning alongside councillors Margaret Isherwood, Betty Rhodes and Tracey Austin to stop this place opening up next to the refurbished Unity Hall and Wakefield Theatre

“If you live locally and are concerned please get in touch with my office.”
