On Friday 12 June Mary Creagh met with Philip Townsend and Jonathan Stone, representatives from the Wakefield & District Community Trust, to discuss their concerns about the Newmarket development.
Following the meeting Mary Creagh wrote to Wakefield Council calling for them to meet directly with The Community Stadium Trust and the developer to discuss how the plan for the stadium can be moved forward.
Mary Creagh MP said:
“Wakefield Trinity Wildcats’ proud history is at the heart of the city’s sporting life. I have supported the community stadium process for ten years. I now want the Council to meet with the Trust and the developers to get things moving.
“I will continue to work with the community stadium trust, fans and the Council to secure the future of the club and the new stadium.”
