Mary supports Virgin Media’s ‘pitch to rich’ campaign

In Wakefield we have a vibrant and constantly evolving community of small and medium-sized businesses. Pitch to Rich is a nationwide competition to find the country’s most exciting and innovative businesses. Helping small businesses to grow and succeed is of great importance to us all, and the campaign is a fantastic initiative supporting small, growing enterprises in achieving their ambitions.

Entrepreneurship is not a one size fits all phenomenon. Entrepreneurialism can be national, international, even global; but entrepreneurs come from all walks of life and generate all sizes of enterprises. They can be sandwich shop owners, mechanics, educators, or any number of other professions. In Wakefield we have a long history of self-starting ambitious business-minded individuals.

Labour will back small businesses in Wakefield by cutting business rates.

Wakefield and the wider UK needs small businesses. I will campaign to support small business and I’m backing the Pitch to Rich campaign to help showcase our local businesses.
